Madonna Tops Forbes Rich List
‘Material Girl’ singer, Madonna, has beaten all comers to emerge the richest celebrity in the year 2013, according to the new rating by Forbes Magazine. According to Forbes’ estimates, Madonna, 55, made $125 million between June 2012 and June 2013, putting her well ahead of runner-up, Steven Spielberg, whose earnings were estimated at $100 million. Although Madonna’s latest studio album, MDNA, had her weakest ever sales (1.8 million worldwide), she still topped the
album charts in several countries including the US and UK, and remains easily the best-selling female recording artist of all-time, with 300 million sales. Others in the top 20 rich celebrities include Steven Spielberg (film director, producer) – $100 million, E.L. James (author) – $95 million, Howard Stern (radio network owner/TV judge) – $95 million, Simon Cowell (TV producer) – $95 million, James Patterson (author) – $91 million, Glenn Beck (TV / radio host) – $90 million, Michael Bay (film director) – $82 million, Jerry Bruckheimer (film producer) – $80 million, Lady Gaga (pop musician) – $80 million, Tyler Perry (actor, director, producer, writer) – $78 million, Tiger Woods (professional golfer) – $78 million, Oprah Winfrey (TV network owner, talk show host) – $77 million.
