Ex-British Footballer, Richard Rufus Dupes Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo Of KICC £5 Million

A former footballer, Richard Rufus has duped the Kingsway International Christian Center, headed by Nigerian pastor Matthew Ashimolowo out of £5 million.

Rufus, a former defender with Charlton Athletic became a member of the church after claiming to be ‘born again’ and was entrusted by the church to invest the said amount on it’s behalf according to a report in the Daily Mail.
The investigation into the fraud is being carried out by the Church Commissioners as a separate investigation from other debts amount ion to almost £18 million owed by Rufus to over 93 investors.
Rufus has missed a number of court hearings saying ‘God is my only judge’.

DEFAMATION: Deji Adeyanju Sues Japheth Omojuwa for N50 Million

Deji Adeyanju, an Abuja based socio-political activist has sued online activist Japheth Omojuwa for defamation to the tune of N50 million. The case which was filed at the Abuja High Court on Thursday is expected to be assigned to a trial judge on Friday 22nd May, 2015.

The case of defamation against the accused is partly connected to a story purportedly concocted by him (Mr. Omojuwa) against Mr. Adeyanju in May 2014.

Man sentenced to two years in prison for breaking into Miley Cyrus’ house

The man who burgled the home of Miley Cyrus has been sentenced to two years in state prison, TMZ reports. Rusty Edward Sellner broke into the singer’s Toluca Lake home on December 16 last year, stealing a large amount of property belonging to Cyrus and her brother. He appeared in court after pleading no contest on February 11 to first-degree residential burglary for breaking into the pop star’s house.
Sellner was arrested by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department on January 5th. According to MailOnline, Sellner has previous convictions for burglary and evading arrest, and a hearing will be scheduled later to determine how much in restitution he has to pay back to Cyrus.

NDLEA nabs 2 drug traffickers with 2.7 kg of cocaine at Kano International Airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) Command, Kano, has arrested two suspected drug traffickers with 2.7 kg of cocaine. The NDLEA Commander, MAKIA, Mr Ambrose Umoru, disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Kano on Tuesday. Umoru said the suspects were apprehended on May 5, during a routine inward screening of passengers of an Ethiopian Airline flight number ET 911 from Nairobi, Kenya, enroute Addis Ababa and to Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano. He said one of the suspects, David Ikechukwu, 32-year-old, who hails from Orlu in Imo state, was arrested with 60 ingested wraps of cocaine weighing 1.250kg.
