Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose is neither apologizing for, nor withdrawing his call for the dissolution of the Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying it is in good faith and in the overall interest of the party.

In a press statement in Ado-Ekiti today by Lere Olayinka, his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Governor Fayose threatened to expose National Chairman Mu’azu, whom he said betrayed the PDP to the opposition.

Following allegations that vast amounts of funds were given to the PDP state governors to prosecute the last elections, he also challenged the NWC to provide evidence of the money released to him.

Nigeria borrows money to pay government salaries

Africa's richest economy is borrowing money to pay salaries as it struggles through a "difficult cash crunch" brought on by halved oil prices, Nigeria's finance minister revealed.
The news comes as Nigeria prepares to welcome a new government at the end of this month and the country's naira currency remains in a slump, hovering between 180 and 220 to the US dollar. It was trading at 160 a few months ago.

Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala tried to be upbeat in a speech on Tuesday after lawmakers approved the 2015 budget - revised three times because of slashed oil prices that provide 80 percent of revenue for the government of Africa's biggest petroleum producer.

She said "revenue challenges" had prohibited the release of any funds for capital expenditure this year but that food prices and single-digit inflation remained quite stable. And she said the economy

According to one of Manny’s sparring partners, Manny sustained the injury few weeks before the legendary fight, and it was so bad that he could not train anymore and they all had to go home. They however told to keep it secret. Considering that Manny made it look like he had no injury when feeling a pre-fight medical checkup, he is likely to face disciplinary action and/or a fine.

Ojo Babafemi, father of Oluwadamilola Fajana, the pregnant lawyer who was killed in a clash between the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and some oil vandals in Arepo, Ogun state, is blaming President Goodluck Jonathan for his loss, saying the president empowered the OPC to kill his daughter. In a statement he release on Monday, Babafemi described the president’s decision to empower APC as unconstitutional. “The outgoing president, Goodluck Jonathan, has, by the virtue of his empowering miscreants who go by the name Odua Peoples Congress (OPC), sent me and my family into a deep mourning since last Wednesday,” he said. “The president, by the unconstitutional empowerment of the ethnic militia which has through their clashes with pipeline vandals, killed so many innocent Nigerians, particularly in Arepo area of Ogun State. “My

Ex-nta Boss Iredia Reacts To The “so-called Ban On AIT”

One of the headline news of the week which ended yesterday was the story that the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari had directed his aides to ban the Africa Independent Television (AIT) from covering his activities. From my personal knowledge of Buhari, I out-rightly disbelieved the story.

But I was however dead sure that because the statement validates the hate documentaries directed at the man during the last electioneering period, many Nigerians would have cause to wonder aloud if truly, a dictator has not been thrust on them. I imagined that civil society groups, human rights activists and publicity conscious politicians would condemn the policy and for the better part of the week throw missiles at Buhari and his political party-the All Progressive Congress (APC). Decorator catches ghostly doctor on camera while exploring haunted hospital

21 year old decorator Jamie-Leigh Brown, who was exploring a derelict hospital was left stunned after a photo she took in the spooky building appeared to show the ghostly figure of a doctor.

Jamie-Leigh was walking the abandoned corridors of St Thomas's Hospital in Stockport - which closed down in 2004 after treating thousands of psychiatric patients over the years - when she took the chilling picture above. She did not check the photo at the time as she and her and friends were too concerned with the footsteps they were hearing above them - despite the hospital having no usable staircases.
