Algerian President Donates $1m To Nepal Earthquake Victims
The President of Algeria, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, has decided to donate one million dollars as financial aid to the earthquake victims of Nepal, it said in a statement released by its embassy in Abuja.
The disastrous earthquake that hit Nepal last Saturday took thousands of lives and left grave damages in its wake. Algeria would also be mobilising substantial emergency assistance and convey a strong team of 70 trained first aid workers from its Civil Defense.
Also 65 tones of relief materials such as drugs, tents, blankets and other useful equipment are being transported by air by its Ministry of National Defense, the statement said.
This assistance is said to show Algeria’s friendship and solidarity relations with Nepal as part of international mobilization to assist Nepal in overcoming the aftermath of the earthquake
